South Lido Park - 190 Taft Drive and 2201 Ben Franklin Drive
At the southern tip of Lido there’s the 100 acre South Lido Park with four bodies of water; the Gulf of Mexico, Big Pass, Sarasota Bay and Brushy Bayou. The Park features 640 feet of gulf beach frontage, and 3,500 feet of Big Pass frontage. There’s fitness/jogging trails and 2 nature trails with observation tower & decks.

St. Armands/Longboat Key –
This is a 9.47 mile Bike Ride along Longboat Key. Longboat enforces a 10mph speed limit and you must have a ding bell to warn pedestrians. Also, be aware of automobiles pulling out of driveways and side roads.

Continue across the Bridge to Anna Maria Island

Bikers can continue over the bridge to Anna Maria Island where the paved path continues. Be sure to slow the pace along Coquina and Cortez Beaches for views of native birds... even a few dolphins or manatees.

Venetian Waterway - Hike, bike, skate, walk ~ The Venetian Waterway Park Trail follows along both sides of the Intracoastal Waterway, from the ocean north and somewhat east, past the Venice Airport to north of Venice Avenue. It is flat and often windy, passing through a mix of urban corridor and open green space. Colorful murals, covered rest and picnic areas and interpretive signs dot the way. You will also find playgrounds, fitness stops and parks. At the northern end of the trail, you can link back to the Legacy Trail and continue toward Sarasota.

Venetian Waterway Park connects downtown Venice to Caspersen Beach Park. It includes both sides of the Intracoastal Waterway along a ten mile stretch through downtown Venice; it is great for walkers, joggers, bicycle riders, dogs and children. While parts of the park are in an urban setting, the majority of the paved path provides a quiet experience overlooking the water and winding through the Florida landscape. You might spot gopher tortoises crossing your path or a bald eagle sunning in a tree. The park is home to scrub jays, alligators and bob cats, especially on the southwest side.

Cross the Venice Avenue Bridge to the east side of the trail and walk from the historic Venice Train Station to Shamrock Park to the south, or head north on the Legacy Trail to Oscar Scherer State Park and back to Palmer Ranch Parkway.
